That which is ethereal, ever-changing, unstable in the form of a vast cloud becomes dense, firm, and balanced within the walls of an indoor space, endowing the viewer with a welcoming tranquility and stabilizing mood. The Cloud, which might inspire awe and comfort simultaneously, embraces the newcomer’s thoughts, invites communication, and marks the presence of a new space here and now. It is evident and tangible through its specific color and sense of heaviness. Yet, it offers more than a physical presence. Symbolizing a bridge between the physical and spiritual realms, the Cloud turns into a spot where the outer and inner worlds of the viewer meet. On the one hand, it is real and present; on the other hand, it connects the viewer to a mystical and magical world.
The installation becomes complete with the combination of the stone below the cloud. The gilded round stone symbolizes the Sun; strangely enough, it is located below the Cloud in reverse order. The reverse order, however, does not embody chaos or mess – it rather symbolizes a constant movement, a turn. As opposed to the natural order, here it is the Cloud that emanates shadow and interacts with the rays of the Sun. The intertwined play between the shadow, the colors, and the pointed landscape of the Cloud eventually opens a new dimension for the viewer, inviting them to a mental journey into the realm of the cosmic.
Typically, for my oeuvre, it is essential, if not primary, that the work expresses sensitivity, laconism, aesthetic delicacy of form, and subtle humor.
